Asia Pacific Premiere

Kabal i Hjerter / Norway 2006 / 60min. Norwegian with English subtitles.
Director Øyvind Sandberg / Producer Øy-Film

Hearts is a touchingly honest and simple story about the lives of Kare Morten, his best friend and flatmate Per Erling and Kare’s girlfriend May Britt. The most basic events for most people like breakfast and a game of football, phone calls and conversations, common misunderstandings, a marriage proposal, all take on a whole new perspective if you live with Downs Syndrome.

Norwegian Director Sandberg offers viewers a rare opportunity to see the world through the eyes of others with different capabilities. He is praised ‘for having the courage to follow his subjects bravely wherever they led him, for having faith in ordinary heroes and for breaking common stereotypes.’
