What an almighty revelation to anyone that considers Christianity harmless!
Trevor Glass examines the morality of Church leaders using “tele-evangelism” to garner profits from their flock. Indeed, the film makers expose the practice for what it really is: fraud, plain and simple.
Through skilful use of unholy footage, Suffer the Children leads us through an emotional gamut: by turns passionate, harrowing, ridiculous, hilarious, scary, and devastating. Suffer the Children tells the story of two kinds of people: the very desperate, and the very exploitative.
Hypocrisy is highlighted through a glaring contrast between the impoverished lifestyles of desperate believers, and the sumptuous ones of the powerful church-leaders. And while the promised miracle never comes, church leaders find fresh victims to fund their lavish consumption. Some big names feature, including the well-known Joyce Meyer, and Benny Hinn who recently graced Aotearoa’s shores.
The eye of a needle should stitch these camels right up. An absolute must-see for anyone with an interest in God or in people.
