La Sombra de Don Roberto
Chile, Suecia 2007 / 27min. / Spanish with English subtitles.
Director/Producer Juan Diego Spoerer, Hakan Engstrom.
Roberto Zaldívar once was held captive in the concentration camp that once held him prisoner under Pinochet at Chacabuco. Now an old man, he has laid his demons to rest and has chosen to live on his own in solitude at the camp. He watches over the lonely desert and walks his shadow along the walls of this far-off place that is now the centre of his world. Stunning cinematography add to this beautiful and striking portrait of a man in a self-imposed exile and a poignant meditation on freedom and the human condition.
