John, Paul, George & Ringo told us “All you need is love”.
Inspired by Cirque du Soleil director, Guy Laliberte, George Harrison had a dream of combining The Beatles’ music and lyrics with the magical spectacle of Cirque Du Soleil to create a multimedia live performance. Unfortunately, he didn’t live to see it realized, but fortunately, his widow Olivia, along with Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono came together to ensure the dream was brought to life.
Music stars in this dizzying documentary featuring Cirque du Soleil’s show, Love. After three years of negotiations and a budget of $180 million, director Dominic Champagne premieres his masterful creation using The Beatles’ brilliant music, masterfully re-imagined by music director and ex-Beatles’ producer, Sir George Marti. It is a peek at a fascinating and nerve-racking creative process as seen on every imaginable level, with fabulous archival footage and spectacular performances — this is one behind-the-scenes story you won’t want to miss. It wasn’t all "plain-sailing" and there was no attempt to disguise some of the disagreements regarding how some of the songs would be portrayed visually. These creative differences, a necessary part of the creative process, illustrate the participants’ love and respect for the music and vision of The Beatles. Rolling Stone Magazine praised the documentary for its sweeping visual style and "many insightful interviews".
All Together Now offers a rare one-of-a-kind insight into the creative process and invites audiences to see first-hand the magic that is the music of The Beatles.
