Due to an overwhelming number of requests the International Documentary Film Festival is delighted to extend its deadline for the forum which offers film makers a launching pad to unleash their vision and potential on the world.
The 2007 International Documentary Film Festival is looking to build upon the fine selection of commissioning editors that were established last year at the popular Pitching Forum. Panelists from the media industry, including commissioners from TVNZ, TV3, PRIME, South Pacific Pictures, Maori Television Service and Gibson Group will be joined by international organisations such as ABC (Australia), ITVS (USA), The Sundance Institute (USA), Al Jazeera International, NHK (Japan) and Discovery Channel Asia.
The Pitching Forum is a chance for aspiring film makers to submit their film proposals for selection in order to pitch to a panel of distinguished national and international commissioning editors.
The stakes are high this year as fantastic prizes will be rewarded for the Best DOCNZ Pitch (a state-of-the-art Media Composer Software and Licensing worth $9,000 NZD) and the Carole Lee Dean DOCNZ Pitch Award ($3,000 USD prize) for the film that best raises social consciousness and awareness. Prizes are sponsored by Amber Technology and The Heart Productions, USA.
The deadline has now been extended to Friday 29th June 2007 at 4.00pm.
This forum is part of the overall summit for this year's festival, which includes lectures and seminars from people in the media industry in New Zealand as well as international guests, some of which phoning in their seminar via video conferencing defining the importance of the festival.
Headlining films in this years 2007 International Documentary Film Festival will be announced over the next two weeks.
