The DOCNZ Team
DOCNZ Focus, a society for documentary films, was launched at the Academy Cinemas in Auckland on 29th July with the screening of Hoop Dreams. Members enjoyed this unique opportunity to watch the documentary voted as the best ever made by the International Documentary Association (IDA). The NZ Breakers attended the screening and took part in the Q&A which followed the screening.
During the intermission, five lucky DOCNZ Focus members won a DVD of the documentary Crude Impact which was screened at DOCNZ 2007. Congratulations to Barbara Hodson, Paul Francis, Yee Yang 'Square' Lee, Richard Howard, and Dimitar Nakov for winning a DVD.
We also announced the addition of another documentary to the programme, so new members will still enjoy 6 screenings in the 2008/9 programme. The next screening of DOCNZ Focus is on 30th September.
We've made the registration process even easier and you can now register online. Click here to register.
We invite you to join us in our efforts to provide a home for our documentary filmmakers and help us achieve our goal of becoming the capital of documentary films in the Southern Hemisphere. Based on your level of donation (Bone, Paua or Greenstone), you will be entitled to some exciting benefits.
