Your feedback is welcome.

What is the future of our documentary film industry? How do we create a sustainable and successful future? Our documentary industry needs proper support and funding.
The Documentary NZ Trust advocates and promotes documentary opportunities. Through our various activities, we are laying a solid foundation for documentary in New Zealand. The DOCNZ Summit programme is devised around this theme. A solid rock forming the cornerstone of our industry requires that we look at all its various parts:
Vision – Where do we see our industry?
Ownership – Who are the stakeholders? Who has the power to affect our industry? Who looks after our industry? Who advocates for our industry?
Identity – Who comprise the industry? What are documentaries?
Skills and Training – We need to train, up-skill and keep our industry abreast of developments.
Technology/Future Proofing – We need to identify the challenges brought by new technology and we need to provide the training in these areas.
Audiences – We need to identify our audiences and how to reach them.
Networks – We need to identify and create opportunities for our industry to network with associated industries, officials and overseas parties.
Funding – We need to rationalize local funding for our documentaries as well as to create opportunities to develop new sources of funding (e.g. overseas co-productions, philanthropy and investments etc.).
