Friends of Documentary Edge

Each year, the Documentary Edge Festival showcases the very best in documentary films from New Zealand and all around the world.

To run a world-class event that will resonate both with the local and international community, we need to be able to run and maintain a professional organisation that is properly resourced. As with all other professional arts organisations, to do so we need to call upon your generosity.

A Home for Filmmakers

We provide a home for New Zealand documentary filmmakers, by establishing local and overseas opportunities. The Trust organises several documentary-related events and initiatives. Through these programmes, local filmmakers are able to put their ideas into practice, screen their films locally and be exposed internationally.

We support talented documentary filmmakers at all levels of their careers and contribute to the ongoing health and development of the documentary industry in New Zealand.

We need your help!

The Trust invites you to join us in our efforts to provide a home for our documentary filmmakers and help us achieve our goal of becoming the capital of documentary films in the Southern Hemisphere.
